Standard vs Premium Membership

Both memberships are a 12-month commitment, paid monthly or in full. Paying in full costs 11 months, so one month is free.

A guest pass covers one court reservation of up to two hours, or one Open Play or Hangar Play session. The same guest cannot be brought again within two months.

PlaySight access covers replay footage, live streaming, on-demand video and analytics, and needs an active PlaySight account. The club's amenities page lists PlaySight as coming soon, so ask whether it is running before choosing Premium for it.

Two discounts are published. Families get 10% off each additional membership when all are billed to the same card. Local students, Cuesta College staff, Cal Fire and Cal Guard members get 8% off memberships paid annually, bought in person with valid ID.

Is a Membership Worth It? The Break-Even

The club does not publish this comparison, but it follows directly from its prices.

If you mostly play Open Play: a drop-in session is $20, so Standard at $100 a month costs the same as five sessions. Play Open Play more than five times a month, a little over once a week, and Standard is cheaper. Paid in full, Standard works out to about $92 a month, which is under five sessions.

If you reserve courts: Standard includes 8 court hours a month. At the public rate of $40 per court per hour, those 8 hours alone would cost $320.

Standard or Premium: Premium costs $40 a month more. A Standard member pays half the public rate, $20 per court per hour, after the first 8 hours. So Premium is the cheaper tier once you reserve more than 10 court hours a month, before counting the two free ball machine hours, the 14-day booking window or PlaySight.

The catch is the commitment. Membership runs 12 months: $1,200 on the monthly plan or $1,100 up front for Standard, and $1,680 monthly or $1,540 up front for Premium. If you are visiting, or play indoors only when the weather turns, dropping in costs less.

Open Play and Hangar Play

Open Play is a two-hour session, either social and self-rated or competitive at a verified level. Each court is capped at six players, so nobody waits out more than one game, and players rotate to mix with others of similar skill.

Hangar Play is the club's own programming: round robins, ladders, King of the Court and similar formats. The details for each session are posted in CourtReserve.

Registration is required for both. They are free for members and $20 for guests and drop-ins. The session timetable is published in CourtReserve rather than on the club's website, so check there for the day you want.

Which Option Fits You

Visiting San Luis Obispo for a few days: drop in. Register for an Open Play session at $20, or reserve a court for your own group at $40 an hour. There is nothing to join.

A regular group of four: a public court reservation is $10 each per hour. If the same four play every week, compare that against Standard memberships, which include 8 court hours a month per member.

Playing alone and looking for games: Open Play is built for that. You register for a session and rotate in with players near your level, six to a court at most.

New to pickleball: the club describes its clinics as running from first-timers learning the basics upward, and it rents demo paddles, so you do not need to own equipment to start.

Training seriously: Premium is the tier with unlimited court reservations, the longer booking window, free ball machine hours and PlaySight video.

The Courts

All seven courts are indoor and dedicated to pickleball. The club describes the playing surface as concrete built over the original wood gymnasium floor, which it says adds cushion and is easier on the body over a long session than a standard hard court. It also points to consistent lighting.

For tournaments the club sets up a dedicated showcase court with expanded run-off space for players and spectators.

Amenities: What Is Open and What Is Coming

The building is 27,000 square feet, and the courts are not the only thing in it.

Lessons, Clinics, Leagues and Tournaments

The club lists lessons, leagues, clinics and tournaments as part of what it offers, and says members get priority booking windows on them. Clinics and skills sessions are described as covering first-timers through experienced players working on specific parts of their game. Tournaments are pitched at competitive play across multiple skill levels.

It also runs promotional and community days, often with brand partners, which can include gear demos, paddle testing, giveaways and extended court access.

No dated schedule or prices for any of these are on the club's website as of 2 October 2026. Upcoming events are announced on its Instagram and Facebook pages, and individual sessions are listed in CourtReserve.

Private Parties and Corporate Events

The Hangar takes private bookings at three sizes. The Rally Room is a private space for up to 30 guests, on its own or alongside court time. Dedicated courts can be reserved for a group, and the club can supply paddles and balls for guests who do not have their own. The whole facility can be rented for a full buyout.

The club names birthdays, celebrations, corporate retreats and team building as the events it is set up for. Pricing is not published. Requests go through the event form on its website, and the club says it replies within one to two business days.

Club Rules Worth Knowing Before You Go

Shoes and dress: clean court shoes only, athletic attire, and shirts and shoes on at all times.

Equipment: bring your own paddle and balls. Balls are sold on site and demo paddles can be rented.

Food and drink: keep both off the courts. Outside alcohol is not allowed.

Conduct: the club's code asks for respect toward members, guests and staff, honest play and good sportsmanship. It says violations can lead to a warning, removal, suspension or termination of membership.

Membership freeze: members get one freeze of up to four months for illness or injury, requested by email.
